With more than 2000 exhibitors, 300,000 expected visitors from over 165 countries, the 57th edition of Salone Internazionale del Mobile will be organised in Milan from April 17-22, 2018. The show is seen as one of the most important exhibitions in the interiors business covering furniture, furnishings, kitchens and bathrooms. Every even year, the show brings the kitchens (EuroCucina and FTK) and bathrooms (The International Bathroom Exhibition) alongwith the furniture and furnishings, and every odd year seeing lighting (EuroLuce) and work spaces (WorkPlace3.0) exhibits.

This year, the exhibits at the EuroCucina (22nd edition) and FTK (Technology For the Kitchen) (7th edition) will determine the trends and spark inspiration: tomorrow’s kitchen will be an interconnected, multipurpose and professional place, yet one where emotions never fail to run high. Similarly, the International Bathroom Exhibition will showcase a wide range of high-end goods, responding to the increasingly pressing demand for performance with an eye to relaxation.

EuroCucina 2018 will bring together 111 exhibitors spread over an area of 21,800 sqms. It will be accompanied by the 7th edition of FTK (Technology For the Kitchen), its natural complement, providing an extraordinary overview of technology, of what has already been produced and what is to come in the built-in domestic appliance sector. The exhibition’s strong points are its high product quality and wide range of goods, not simply showcasing the latest in contemporary kitchens but also providing interesting and intriguing insights into the planning and future evolution of this particular space.

At the FTK, 47 exhibitors will take up 14,300 m2 of exhibition space. Some of the brands at FTK include Aloys Dornbracht (Dornbracht), Asko Appliances, Aton, Barazza, Bertazzoni, BSH (Bosch, Gaggenau, Neff, Siemens), Electrolux Appliances (Best), Elica, Faber, Falmec, Franke, Liebherr Hausgeräte, Meneghetti (Fulgor), Miele, Novy, Samsung Electronics Italia, Sil Film, Silverline Built-in Appliances, Sirius, Smeg, Sub-Zero Group (Sub-Zero, Wolf) and Whirlpool EMEA (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Hotpoint and Indesit). There is one marked trend amongst the solution providers – every single product is remote controlled, can be connected to an app to manage and simplify operations or linked to the other appliances to make life easier for the user.

The 7th edition of the International Bathroom Exhibition will see 228 exhibitors ranged over 20,600 square metres. A larger-than-ever exhibition area will showcase the best of the international manufacturing, from furniture and accessories to shower cubicles and saunas, sanitaryware and radiators, coverings, taps, bathtubs and hot tubs.  Manufacturers are working towards futuristic solutions, for example, not just supplying smart showerheads and taps that help drive down water and energy consumption, but also domotics and digital devices for integrating and transforming rooms as needed, adjusting bathroom temperature, music or coloured lights, for example, as well as the height of sanitaryware. Such futuristic solutions will be at display at the International Bathroom Exhibition.
